I just graduated from high school, when I was in the band I would make stuff up on the marimba all the time. My band director told me I would be a very good composer. I just need to know what the best tools are to compose marching band music and orchestra music.

Most likely Sibelius; it’s pretty much the premier sheet music software on the market. If you want something cheaper, perhaps check out Finale products.
