Its to do with the soldiers at war in Iraq (etc) who have been given games consoles and guitar hero for their free time. (”Whats the use in going outside? Its so depressing when people die in real life.)
If you check out the WKAP website and go to the lyrics page for this song, there are articles and videos from news reports about the soldiers getting guitar hero.

My interpretation, honestly, is how video games can effect people into violence. Example, the whole bullshit with school shootings being caused by Doom. Cause it talks about shooting a crowd and how they die in real life.
